The Artist's Story
A PROMISE FULFILLED
When I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in January, 2000, I knew I would have to find a source of inner-strength to help me through the journey I was about to begin.
On the day I was to go home from the hospital, following major surgery, I told the doctors—“My music is going to play a role in my fight with cancer. God has given me a voice and now I know why”.
I began to sing at prayer services, and programs at various cancer centers. When I saw the pleasure I was giving to other people fighting cancer, I knew I had to share my music with as many people as I could reach. Thus the idea for this CD was born and my Promise Fulfilled.
I’d like to dedicate this CD to all of those brave men and women who are patients and survivors, as well as to those who lost the battle.
I’d like to thank my children, grandchildren, friends, clergy, doctors and all of those associated with the Providence Cancer Center. A big thank you to Braincell Pictures and Hammell Music for their help in making this project possible.
A special thanks to my wonderful husband and partner, Shelly, who served as my Business Manager, and has supported me through all of my various endeavors.
The proceeds from the sale of this CD will be donated to organizations engaged in
cancer research, treatment, and education and various healing arts programs.
Many of the songs on this CD were selected because they have a special place or
memory for me. “On A Wonderful Day Like Today” is dedicated to the memory of my
dear friend, Zina Shaykhet
