Elaine Greenberg has been singing all of her life. As a young girl growing up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she sang at community functions, and was part of the small group of talented high school performers who won a chance to be part of the coveted Judge Wright Talent Show.
When she entered the University of Minnesota and was one of many who auditioned for the Varsity Show, she was told her talent, poise, and stage presence gave her the opportunity most freshmen do not have----a solo performance in front of thousands of people.
Getting married at a very young age (two) and giving birth to four wonderful children, Elaine took some time off before re-entering the world of music.
She started out by giving piano and voice lessons in her home, and conducting the children’s choir at Temple Israel. She performed at the Temple as Cantorial Soloist, and began singing at private parties and community functions in and around the Detroit area.
When she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, her world took a different direction. She knew that her music would play a large role in the healing process and the journey she was about to begin.
She began singing at cancer centers--–doing healing services as well as programming. Not only was this therapy and pleasure for her, but those in the audience responded with positives, smiles, comments and compliments. It was time to put those talents on a permanent CD so that people could hear her whenever they turned a dial or pushed a button.
Elaine began to realize that the cancer experience had made her voice richer and fuller, and now she was singing from “her heart” and with more emotions than she had ever experienced in her life. The cancer experience with all its negative connotations had been turned into a positive for Elaine and all those who have been privileged to hear her.
